Diana S. Zimmerman

Like her novels, Diana’s role in the performing arts and business world is multi-layered and transcends the ordinary.

She has been a performer and businesswoman since the age of eight when she invested all of her resources into a small magic trick. With a total capital outlay of 47 cents, Diana parlayed her investment into a spectacular 25-year career as "America's Foremost Lady Magician.” From paying her way through college via television appearances, international travel tours, she starred, staged, and created lavish Las Vegas style magic and music revues. Diana has invented magic illusions for David Copperfield and Lance Burton, and is still a highly respected lecturer, writer, and teacher in the world of magic. She also sponsors a young magician's group at Hollywood’s famous Magic Castle—an organization Diana founded in 1974 with the help of legendary actor, Cary Grant.

Her transition into the corporate world saw the creation of CMS Communications, Intl.—an international marketing communications agency whose clients include many of the Fortune 500. Today, Diana is CMS’ President and CEO. The author’s dazzling road of business accomplishments is also paved with equally impressive writing credentials. Having had 100’s of articles published, Kandide: Secret of the Mists is the first of her three novels. She is also the co-author of a business book called Where MarCom Went Wrong.

In addition to writing, Diana is an avid collector of faery art. Her collection is one of the largest in the world. Pieces include bronzes, porcelains, paintings, books, and etchings that range from the mid 1700s to contemporary works. Diana’s childhood memories of the faery stories told to her by her mother returned in a flash when she saw the remarkable painting that was to become the “muse” for the Kandide series. Australian artist Maxine Gadd’s portrait, Frost, now in Diana’s private art collection, inspired the literary legacy of Kandide.
Debates throughout the centuries on the existence of “Faeries” will continue to stimulate provocative pro-and-con arguments, but in Diana’s world of Fantasy Adventure fiction, they assertively spring to life, often beyond mere imagination.

E. Allen Reichard – Co-author. Where MarCom Went Wrong

E. Allen Reichard is considered by many to be a MarCom maverick. Certainly, he is an instigator of marketing innovation and a champion of its interdepartmental alignment. He has reinvented, reinvigorated, realigned, and revitalized MarCom departments for companies as large as IBM and as small as MPC—a tradeshow management group in the Houston, Texas area. In June of 2005, Reichard joined global chipmaker, AMD, as Director, Global Event Strategy and Marketing. Prior to that, he was Vice President, Corporate Events Strategy and Sales for The Freeman Companies (1996 through 2005), spent thirty years with IBM as its Corporate Director, IBM World Wide Event Marketing, and consulted for Compaq Computers prior to the HP merger.

Reichard’s experience within the corporate world brought an entirely new way of thinking to The Freeman Companies, enabling senior management to restructure their business objectives to achieve maximum benefit for their clients. An acute understanding of just how relevant MarCom activities, including live events, can be to a corporation’s overall marketing program drove his strategy.

As Executive Vice President of MPC Trade Shows, Inc., Reichard’s primary role was to develop an overall business strategy that included the integration of its sales and operational organization. He was also charged with executing on a first year program of PC computer events for the consumer market.

At IBM, Reichard was responsible for this mega-giant’s MarCom event strategy and budget. During his tenure there, he was featured in the February and March 1995 issues of Exhibitor Magazine. Titled “Inside Allen Reichard’s IBM,” the articles took an inside look at how a major corporation’s multi-divisional events program was transformed from a completely segmented divisional structure into a customer-oriented, corporate focused Marketing Communication vehicle.

Reichard’s experience also includes a one-year consulting position to define, create, and execute a first-time sports marketing effort for Compaq Computer Corporation, then based in Houston, Texas.

He has served on a number of boards including Exhibitor Magazine’s conference for the exhibit industry. He has been a guest speaker at CEMA, The Exhibitor Show, TSEA, ESCA, PCMA, IAEM, SISO, and show management companies. Reichard has also spoken at numerous private and public corporations, as well as multiple universities and colleges.

Maxine Gadd

From the age of three, it was obvious that Maxine was an extraordinary talent. Born Maxine Saunders in Worcestershire, England, she was a shy child who preferred drawing to playing with friends. In 1967, her family immigrated to Australia. It was there that her artistic talents flourished. Maxine first exhibited her drawings at school and then at community art shows. She won numerous awards, and by the age of 12 was selling her paintings.

Always the non-conformist, at 15 she chose to leave school, deciding instead to explore the field of graphic design at a technical college. This, however, quickly became too restricting, and she left to focus on her own private world of art. Being ever restless, Maxine longed to be involved with fellow artists. Even though college had been restrictive in the past, she decided to go back. After three years, she received a diploma in Graphic Design, and while there, won the prestigious John Lunghi Award for “Outstanding Artistic Design.”

It was at school that she briefly met Will Gadd. By pure chance, they met again some time later, and after a brief courtship were married. During their honeymoon, Maxine began work on a fairy book that she and Will were writing. His support, both emotionally and financially, allowed her, for the first time, the freedom to devote herself to her art. Although Maxine paints many subjects, her distinctive approach to Fairies and Mermaids are what have truly captivated her fans.
